NEW! Jewish Christian Conference!

Forum for a Reformed Understanding of Messianic Ministry (FRUMM)

WHAT IS FRUMM?

FRUMM is an acronym for: Forum for a Reformed Understanding of Messianic Ministry

In Judaism, "frum" (with one "m") means one who is religiously observant. We believe that the New Covenant Faith is the true faith of Israel and that Jesus or Yeshua, as He was known among his people in the first century, is the Jewish Messiah. (If you are Jewish and are reading this webpage for the first time wondering what this is all about, "Reformed" in this context refers not to Reform Judaism but rather to the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. But, please, do read on!)

We are a loose coalition of ministry leaders and scholars who love the Jewish people and who seek to bring the good news of Messiah's love and forgiveness to them. We share a common desire to see Jewish people embrace the New Covenant faith promised by the Prophet Jeremiah in chapter 31, verses 31-34. Our purpose in this web site is to bring a Reformed perspective to the issues involved in Jewish ministry.

As this site develops, we plan to include the following areas:

1. An introduction to a Reformed presence in Jewish missions and ministry, including:

a. The development of modern Jewish missions and the influence of believers and churches of a Reformed perspective upon it.

b. The contribution of Reformed theology to a positive view of the Jewish people and Jewish evangelism. We intend to interact with issues such as Reformed theology's interest in the Jewish people and will also seek to correct some of the misunderstandings about Reformed theology and Jewish ministry, including issues such as covenant theology in relation to supersessionism.

c. The present state of Jewish missions in Reformed circles. Here we will list Reformed ministries to Jewish people and links to their sites, as well as include information about publications of various kinds which discuss this topic in more detail.

Other areas we hope to investigate are:

  • What Reformed theology has to offer Jewish missions in general and the Messianic congregational movement.

  • Clear and well-studied thinking on issues such as: the Law, covenant, and tolerance of various eschatologies which co-exist within Reformed and non-Reformed circles.

  • A paradigm for going about a New Reformation in Jewish ministry.

  • Presentation of a Reformed world and life view, which in some cases is similar to the Jewish concept of tikkun haolam.

As we develop the site, we will consider the possibility of adding a chat room or message board to discuss some of these issues, but primarily, we are here to lift up the Name of our Messiah and Savior, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, and to proclaim His Gospel of life and salvation to Jewish and non-Jewish people all over the world. We don't want any discussions to detract from that chief goal.

We hope you find this site to be an interesting, stimulating and helpful resource!
